I don't see a problem with running Boston before the trials. In fact, I think it's a natural choice for the spring - his appearance in Boston is probably worth more in terms of publicity than it would be in London, and with many of the top Olympic contenders probably out of the way, Hall may actually have a chance. Only focussing on trials would also mean he would not race in a truly competitive marathon before the Olympics.
All this is relevant only if he can run another 2:06 marathon, of course - if he can only go 2:12, then running Boston is an even smarter choice. I wish him good luck.

Well I guess we will see how good of a coach God is. Obviously if Ryan Hall runs anything less than is maximum potential we can conclude God doesn't know any more about running than any other coach. Will Hall be drinking special holy water during the race? Will Jesus make his return to pace Hall? With everything God has to do and now with coaching duties, does that mean he'll have even less time to help all the starving and dying children in the world? Why has God chosen to coach Hall but decided to end Josh McDougal's career? ???
Thugwane (sp?) who won 96 Oly marathon had I think 3 from Jan to Aug.
Charlie Spedding ran Houston, London, Olympics (Aug) and was a medalist.
I guess its possible if you recover properly.

I find this notion of calling professional marathoners "soft" laughable. If they were soft, do you think they would be doing marathons and marathon training year after year for a living?
