Washington (girls) - Not one runner in the top 100!

Babcock had an injured foot since last year. Then one week before Pac-10s she chose to give up her redshirt and run. I think it was still an off year though, going from a two time All American to 114th place this year.

That's pretty obnoxious to discuss a young woman's body changes like that. These are real people with feelings. This is a girl who has had a great high school AND college career. She's a senior, cut her a break. How big are YOUR thighs, anyway?

She's a high-level athlete and this is a thread (and message board) discussing high-level athletes. If someone has a legitimate hypothesis as to why something occurred he/she should be free to share it, regardless of whether it is "politically correct" or not. This isn't the 1950s.

You think that the 1950s were characterized by political correctness? Or are you just saying that people didn't objectify women in the 50's or say insulting things about them?

I wasn't trying to be obnoxious, just giving an opinion as to why she was second best in the nation all through high school yet not nearly as dominant now. I am sure she is training hard and I believe in Metcalf. She is a classy girl and I am certainly happy she came to Washington.... And my thighs, they are way too skinny! I wish they were much bigger. People frequently make comments about my skinny legs. No biggie. I take it in stride.
