Dismal race for Webb (1:51) ... he's done

Ok smart guy, what would he have had to run in order for you to allow him to continue training and competing? Let's face it, your saying that he should just hang 'em up is ridiculous at best. So how about you STFU, unless you can manage to step up to the adult table of analysis and commentary. Fair enough?

I guess you are not getting the point gphr, it should be obvious now that your first post was an ignorant over reaction...was it a great race? hell no. But it was his first race back in years, you have no idea what his goal was in the race, the conditions were bad, you don't know what kind of training he is doing, most elites take a bit to regain racing form etc....all this makes the "he's done" statement look amazingly stupid...a statement that would never ever come from someone who has actually ran at Alan's level.

huge Webb fan, but that was tough to watch--no giddy up, even wondered if Alan was thinking "what am i doing here"--got to believe they would not have put him in there if they were not expecting something significantly better--better off doing practice time trials---as a big supporter i hope it is rust, but that really did not look promising-

Why should Webb hang it up? I'm sure Nike still pays him a lot of money to wear their vest. Running 151 is frustrating (and mabye dismal) but its better than retiring and getting a real job.

Yeah, that's what happens when all that needs to be said has been said. Everyone goes home. I can stick around for a few more minutes if you want to give me a BJ or something, though.

I remember on of Seneca Lassiter's last competitive races was around a 1:52 800. After that I never saw he compete again.

Not quite sure why you'd say that after what was Webb's first race back in a looong time, and at a meet that looked like it was about as intense as a high school dual meet. Let's just wait until he's been racing a couple of months before we make any grand proclamations about him needing to hang 'em up.

No he never claimed he was in highschool at the time, but he did say he was 25, and that he did those times in the 90s which is impossible since even if he were a member of the highschool class of 99 that puts him at 30. Thus, he is a troll, a fake, a fraud: Case closed.

It wouldnt take much more to beat Webb, and there are HS kids that would have spanked Webb's behind today. In fact, there are college freshman who would have been disappointed running like Webb. Castor Inseminator would have been coming hard up behind Webb. Pun intended.

No, you like Gray read his post wrong again. He said he was 24 when he ran those times and it was no big deal. He did not state that he was 24 presently, and he never said he ran those times in high school. When Gray mentioned Karie all he said was that he was older than him. He never said he ran 4:02 in HS. Read closely people! Details matter before you blindly accuse someone of making stuff up. If anything, Gray has made up all the details of his attack on this guy.

Ok, I did exaggerate the times a bit. For some reason I thought I'd have more credibility if I said 1:49 and 4:02 than the 1:53 and 4:09 I really did run as a mediocre D1 runner at a mid-major. HS I was 1:56 and 4:16.

AS IF IT REALLY MATTERS! I still think Webb's not going to get it back. And yes, I'm in my late 30s and very jaded and immature. When I realized I was never going to make the Olympic Trials, let alone the Olympics, I became very depressed. I never should have started posting on here. I'm going to go upstairs and hope my mom cooks me a hamberger or something.
