What do you identify yourself most with: race, nationality, religion,...

In order:

1) My HUGE biceps.

2) My keyboard (piano) skills.

3) My guitar skills.

4) My great father and husband skills.

5) Being well-liked and admired by everyone.

Age first, I guess, but maybe because my sex is so fundamental I don't even think about it. I suppose I'd follow with my ancestral ethnicity.

It's a moderately interesting question. I've noticed that if you asked people "what are you?" some would respond with age, others with sex, others with (current) nationality, others with religion, others with ethnic ID, others with sport or college major or profession, etc.

Back when I could run, my answer to that question would surely have been "a runner"--that *was* who/what I was. I certainly would not answer "a walker" nowadays...

I think I see myself essentially as an intellectual and fitness snob - reading literary fiction and being in great shape are very important to me.

So I identify mostly with being a smart, fit guy and hold myself apart from most people that way.

This is a bit of a silly question but let me operationalize it. If there are a number rooms and each room has its own domain (the gender room, the country room, religion room, the sports interest room)each room is divided into groups which group would you feel the strongest affiliation?Certainly in the country room I would most strongly feel connected to the others from the USA.In the gender room I would have a very strong affiliation to the male grouping.The other rooms I would feel affiliation to my political group or people who share my sports interests but it wouldn't be as strong as the previous two.

Definitely NOT by religion. Nothing screams "cult" or "I condone child abuse" more than saying I'M A CATHOLIC.

My faith (christ follower) by a long shot, mostly because my closest friends who I relate with the most also define themselves this way. I would identify myself as an athlete too though, it's a big part of my life, but still only a part of it so it doesn't affect ALL of my life like my faith does.

Yeah, these "Christians" are identied by their faith too. Such a loving and inclusive religion....
