I hope Riley stays at UMaine. Nice to see home state guys stay..then go post collegiate with a club..If he leaves it will probably be a financial decision with lack of funds in Maine. Coach Lech is very good and has developed runners including Nedeau (sub 4:00) to full potential for many years...Lech was a very good runner (1:46) ran post college with Nike funded Athletics West and coached by Bob Sevene. Don't knock the coach !!
Riley is getting great coaching at Maine. Mark Lech was Nedeau's coach (it wasn't Sev), and was a 1:45 guy himself. Riley has obviously done very well under his guidance.
Also, Ned is doing very well at Amherst. The men are good and the women's team is better, having won the NC's in Cross a couple of years ago, and getting top 5 just about every year.[quote]1500 runner wrote:
