Check out Alysia's video interviews. She's all girl. Some of you people are repulsive. You know who you are.

I agree accusing A-Jo of being dirty and gender-bending is pure Letsrun at its worst garbage. She is a gorgeous woman, all about integrity, and she is very girly and feminine.
And smart. Cal Berkeley.

of course, I hope that she is clean. But then she is very muscular and has crossed that invisible line into doping country (the sub 1:58 woman's 800m runner). Not too many possible exceptions in there, and some of those exceptions are probably men or hermaphrodites (Jelimo?, definitely Mutola and Semenya).
Same way she looked in H.S., unless you think she was talking PEDs then too.

Or on something. just catching up with the russians?
If you can win the NCAA championship and our national championship at age 20, if you progress normally, I would expect you to become really-really good. Btw, there are only a few NCAA Jrs who have done that in any event. (off the top of my head) Suzy Favor-Hamilton, Jackie Joyner-Kerse, Jim Ryun, Steve Prefontaine, Renaldo "Skeets", Charles Austin, Carl Lewis, Gail Devers, Quincy Watts and Amy Acuff for example. All of these athletes became Olympic and/or WC medalist. Keep in mind, she ran 1:59.2 in 2007, what's strange about being young and improving by a second and a half in over 2 years?
It's so unfair to make such horrible acusations based on nothing but an athlete having good performances.

when willard drops 0.81s, please tell us how how much hermaphrodite is this absolutely stunning woman...
Guys, this is silly. The women's 800 in this country right now happens to filled with very talented hardworking improving runners who happen to be smart, funny, and attractive. You should really be enjoying all of this. If you can't, then....take up sailing or something.
Weary, that is a great post! I've been thinking the same thing. These woman are fast, beautiful, intelligent and great interviews and they represent the USA in a positive way! Sit back and enjoy them!
I think that AJ is a great interview, great sense of humor and a fearless (but not foolish) racer.
If you are reading this, would you consider (just once!) wearing a small American flag in your hair instead of a flower? That would rock.

Which Oly/WC medal did Prefontaine win ?
the commentators sounded like high schoolers...."5 girls under 2:00"
girls?

They essentially are high schoolers in the way that they commentate. Flotrack is a website for adolescent boys. (They have playground races, hot dog eating contests, show you how to travel around Europe on a shoestring budget, etc.) In a previous meet, one of the US women had broken the 2:00 barrier and the commentator went along like it was a guy breaking two minutes oblivious to the fact that breaking two minutes is a BIG deal for a woman.
I agree about the 5 girls under 2:00 comment. That is just indicative of their adolescent tendencies. Wouldn't it be funny if they said 5 boys under 1:45 (ha ha).
So, was the start line in the correct place in Lignano? Is this a Rieti type track?
ventolin, I hope that we can maintain a civil discussion here since I agreed with you about Rudisha's pacers!
I never said or implied that Alysia Johnson was anything other than a woman. She is a woman and I never said that only men and hermaphrodites can run sub 1:58. But there have been very, very few women to join the sub 1:58 club without being from countries with systematic doping programs. Three of the exceptions may have been hermaphrodites: one was a clear one year wonder to this point (pretty damn mannish looking, but maybe just doped to the gills Jelimo), a second is a demonstrated hermaphrodite (Semenya, who is not running close to her times of last year after likely hormone therapy), and the third, though extremely well liked, was extremely masculine looking and never tested positive over a long and glorious career during which sex testing was inoperative(Mutola). That just means that it is bloody hard for a woman to run sub 1:58 unjuiced. If Willard does it, then it might or might not be clean. I hope that Johnson and Willard are clean. I hope that Favor was clean as well. I hope that Slaney was clean when she ran her AR, and I hope that Miles was as well.
Nevertheless, if we're in the game of predicting and celebrating, I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon of sub 1:58 or sub 3:58 women who are either hugely muscular, married to known dopers, or from countries with systematic doping regimes.

Ok, he got 4th, which is still an accomplihment as an ncaa athlete.
he never won a major. pre is another coulda shoulda woulda that only nike propaganda could keep alive.
you're in idiot. if that's the case stop watching the freakin sport. if you can "jump on the bandwagon" of a runner who is in good shape and running fast then what the hell are you doing checking results for. i suppose you would rather the U.S. never have a sub 2:00 female 800 runner ever again, just to make sure they're not dudes or doping. you should kill yourself, worthless scum.
he ran a solo 27'43 in windy conditions a coupla years before montreal ( 5th or 6th fastest time ever & remember 2nd fastest ever at the time was 27'38, just 5s quicker )
looking at how poor that 10k final was ( it was shit ), pre wouda very likely guaranteed at least a bronze with a long hard run & possibly even a silver
i have no doubt he wouda won at least 1 medal in '76
There should be a ten-year moratorium on Prefontaine as a LetsRun message board topics. It's nothing but boring.
