Do you remember "You Are What You Eat" bars? Mmmmmmmm! They were the best! But, I bet I haven't seen one in, um, 11-12 years. Sigh.

I like chocolate PowerBar Harvest.
The fruit smoothie bars don't have as much protein as regular powerbars. Also, when is someone going to make a sports bar without using soy? Soy is the biggest scam perpetrated on the sports community. Inferior crap protein passed off on us because it is cheap and subsidized.
I'd like to find a protein bar or powder that doesn't use whey.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Harvest Energy Bars are by far the best Powerbar. That or the Chocolate Peanut butter regular ones.

Try KFC.
Could they bring back the Multi-Nut?
Please continue the regular old chocolate one, if nothing else.
I doubt power bars are going anywhere; they still sell a ton. Now there are also Cliff bars of course, others such as Luna bars (intended for females, I think) and Lara bars (IDK what they're for), and a new bar I saw whose claim to fame is that it's exactly 100 calories.
I rarely buy these bars and can't believe they sell so well. Same goes for all the health shakes. If you make something sweet and intimate that it's healthful, it's like a license to print $$$$. Coca-Cola initially was sold as a health drink and healthy alternative to booze. That's why the first soda fountains were in drug stores (it's in every old movie).

I know it sounds unlikely but here in NYC at least, 3 different GNCs I've been to have not replaced their stock in month. So today I asked if they could order a box and they said they couldn't.
Maybe it's just a GNC thing?
Maybe they're not carrying powerbars anymore and don't want to pay the $10-$15 in shipping to make $2 off of the bars. Try Dick's. Or Walmart.
Never could understand the intrigue of PowerBars.
I hear they make them by laying Tootsie Rolls in a parking lot and then drive cars back and forth over them.

I mean really the Powerbar looks like digested food, which is why it goes down so easily.
The original PowerBar looks and tastes like digested food, so it goes down and comes up easily. I wasn't surprised to see the subject line, I am surprised that there are people bummed those nasty things would come off the market.

Whey is subsidized, too.

6g vs. 8g? Oh yeah, that's really a HUGE difference. :-/

When I first read your reply, I thought you were asking, "When is someone going to make a sports bar with soy?" It seems Whey is the more commonly used ingredient. It's only been recently, probably due to demand, that I've seen more "soy-based" bars/protein blends. As someone who's lactose intolerant, I commend the companies for finally making bars with soy.
Energy bars taste like shit. All of 'em. Just eat Food.

Why would you not want whey? That is the best protein available. Has the best amino acid profile of anything and doesn't have gastro-intestinal effects. No to mention the possible role of phytoestrogens in soy.

Whey is subsidized, too.
Dairy is not subsidized in the way soy, corn, and wheat are.
Soy is a vastly inferior protein choice.

Whey would be much more expensive without the corn feed. It's indirect but there's still significant impact.
