Haha, you know she hasn't won in a while when she gets interviewed and is that candid. That was awesome. I make a motion that all female LRC prediction threads consider whether the woman will have the balls to win or not.
WOOT WOOT SUPA HOT!
pretty impressive kick from 600 meters out....she could hardly breath and speak after the race, but she stated "Balls" what it took!
Is this Fleshman interview up yet?
Best postrace interview ever*.
So refreshing to hear someone answer candidly, in contrast to some of the other post-race interviews. Fleshman's blog is pretty blunt as well, plus entertaining (http://asklaurenfleshman.com/).
Too bad the announcers pretty much butchered the call of the race - mixing up Huddle and Barringer several times during the race, saying Fleshman runs for Oregon, then "correcting" that to say she was a former Oregon star, when in fact she ran for Stanford. But at least they showed a replay of Rhine's move even though it happened during commercial break.
And yeah, that was a hell of a move.
* = that I've seen.
That was totally wicked! I am now her biggest fan.
bump
balls. all that was was balls
that made me laugh so hard when i heard it
I regret her use of the word (2 times) but track and field gets so little coverage anyway it dosen't matter much..
Mottram, Fleshman, Iverson...
At least they made it memorable.
she is exactly what running needs, a chick with the balls to hammer it home
Yeah we did more women like Caster Semenya. Why is it that in order to be considered tough you have to allude to being masculine? What a messed up society.

She has a dyke voice.
her comment was funny, but she might want to be careful lest she succumb to the "balls" jinx. You brought up Mottram, right? After his "balls" interview, he had only a couple good races, and then it was basically all downhill for him from there, and he ran like had has been castrated ever since.

This is probably the dumbest statement I've seen on here in a while. Too bad she won't be within 15 seconds of the big American dogs when it matters (both in Europe and in the '11 and '12 national championships). It boggles the mind how weak the field is when you remove the 3 or 4 US women capable of breaking 15 mins.
Fleshman loves to talk about how tough she is... well I will never forget the race from a couple of years ago when she flat out quit (stepped off of the track) during the middle of a relatively tough pace at US nationals. Sorry kids- you want tough? I'll take Goucher, Begley, Flanagan, or even Donahue any day of the week over Fleshman in the toughness department.

You remove the top 4 runners and the field gets weaker??? Holy shit!
Fleshman has broken 15:00 for the 5000
I don't mean tough..I mean I like the use of the word "balls" by a female. And Caster Semenya IS a guy, not a girl using the words "balls".
