John Dye is a super nice guy, he and his wife lived for track and field. Both of his kids were Maryland state champions. His son was a high jumper, and his daughter was one of the top polevaulters in the country when she graduated.
Dyestat started as a small site for Maryland kids, and just continually grew.

I started reading Dyestat back in the late 90s. Even exchanged emails a few times with Dye. Requiem intera pax.

I hate people who spread lies like W/J are Trust Fund babies, personally know George W. Bush, are fast, are Dallas natives, and are Conservatives. None of that is true. Their personal preferences and details are none of anyone's business ! period.
ESPN will be the ruination of all sports as we know it. They will either destroy all sports that don't create obscene amounts of money or make them so expensive, the casual fan will get fed up and take interest in something else.
I have already deleted every espn station off my tv even though it is probably costing me as much as all the other programming combined. Their hate filled sensationalistic reporting and use of the most caustic braodcasters they can find make watching unbearable. It's too bad because when they started 30 years ago, they were great for sports.
Just like the NBA, college football is now being controlled by TV. The future of fair competition does not hold much promise.
I will miss Dyestat, excellent website with a pretty good message board. I hope the "picture section" is the elite section is not lost! There are some great archives pictures posted over the years there. Virgin, mamo, shorters, pre rogers, etc.....
They always do a great job on national events like footlocker and others. If it changes to much, June 17th will be a sad day for this long time Dyestat fan. God bless Mr. Dye for being part of the new internet T&F craze! Some of the best coverage I have ever seen in Track and Field!
