Actually Rush doesn't leave near the carbon footprint that Al Gore does, probably less than 20%.

Gore will get the LR web site, Tipper and children will get everything else.

Not even making any effort to live up to the ideals that you want to force on others certainly is evidence you are against the ideal.

Everybody knows that hurricanes are a sure sign of global warming...whoops, climate change. Warmer waters, caused by greenhouse gasses, make for more powerful and more frequent hurricane activity, so it would seem to be natural to include hurricane data into any report concerning the effect of CO2 on global warming. Former vice-president Al Gore, while writing his latest book "Our Choice; A Plan To Solve The Climate Crisis", thought that it would be a nifty idea if he could display hurricanes doing their villainy on the glossy cover once the book was published. But there was a problem! Since hurricane activity is at a thirty year low, the storms were just not cooperating with the satellite cameras. Action was called for!

What to do, what to do! Gore, or more accurately, Gore's publishers, shooped four hurricanes into an existing satellite photograph of the western hemisphere. There are many errors within the photograph, namely that there is no polar ice cap whatsoever, Florida has shrunk and there is a "mini-hurricane" drifting off of its east coast, and finally, there is a monster hurricane right off of the southern California coast. This obvious attempt at cashing in on the post-Katrina fear craze is plainly manufactured science; even the hurricane that lingers near the equator at Peru is spinning the wrong direction. Gore needs to fire his shoopers and get in touch with people who know a little about global weather patterns before he publishes his next book.

Ok...just a few things wrong with the picture on the right. The storm in the Atlantic is rotating the wrong way. For Cuba to be totally submerged the sea level would have to rise almost 6000 feet. Polar ice caps are gone yet Greenland still has ice on it. Finally hurricanes cannot develop on or near the equator as they have depicted. It saddens me to see what's happening to this great country.

Does this mean if everyone divorce his/her spouse, the collective cooling would reverse global warming?

40 yrs of marriage, probably not all good years, but heck, why give up after all that time? They succumbed to the loser club of people who can stay committed to each other.............promise breakers.......you people are so so week and self-centered.

No one is more deserving of ridicule than Al gore.

Deserving of ridicule? No, I have met Gore on a few occasions, he is sincere in what he says and believes, misguided sometimes, but sincere. Maybe more misguided than not but he isn't a phony.

When he was VP Gore was the main speaker at an NYU graduation. He actually gave a *major* policy speech, dealing (IIRC) with electronic privacy--anyway, it truly was major, and I'm pretty sure it was the announcement of a projected *Clinton* administration policy.

He worked up to what was obviously an "applause" line, delivered it forcefully--and nothing happened. Thousands and thousands of people, no response. There aren't many crickets in Washington Square, but if there were, you could have heard them chirp.

I was no fan of Gore (or any other politician), but I felt genuinely bad for him right then. The guy just could not deliver a speech. "Wooden" doesn't begin to convey it.

At that point there wasn't any way I could imagine him as a future President. A decent guy, a smart guy, a sincere (IMO) guy, but he just could not project leadership or enthusiasm.

I'm sorry about his marriage. I have marriage troubles of my own. It's not something I would wish on anyone.

Maybe I should have said "intelligent"--I agree, "smart" is as smart *does*. In any case, he's a bright individual.
