But the problem is, its the people who hate Rupp who are hyping him. Actually, if there is any "problem" its that nobody really knows Rupp at all. He doesn't give many interviews and when he does they are not very good or revealing. So people just start using their own imagination with Rupp given what they know. And what they know is that he has earned the right to be seen as the top up and coming talented distance runners. That may change with Solinsky and Ritz. But Rupp can't be blamed if he has the ability to stay healthy and Ritz doesn't. And we'll have to see if Solinsky can stay healthy and build on the level he is at.

I'm posting on an internet forum, if I hated rupp I would have just changed my name, slammed him, and not explained my reasoning. In any case I'm not criticizing him, I'm saying his handlers are screwing him. I think that a big part of the issue is that he has people making decisions for him and hyping him up. You always want to under promise and over deliver. Rupp is letting people promise things he can deliver but that makes it boring to the average fan. If Bekele came out before every race and said "I am going to run xx:xx and win" would it be exciting if he did just that?
