What would you know about sleep.Go run 200miles
I would love to see how much someone's blood cortisol level jumps from running 50 miles per week vs 100 miles per week.
There is a difference on how much sleep you need and how much sleep would be optimal. I had the opportunity to train for 2 months at altitude one summer. My parents are very supportive, so I did not have to work. All I did was run and rest - I was in an unfamiliar place with no car so I didn't have the opportunity to go party. Anyways, I followed the example of the training partners (world class) that I was staying with, and ended up sleeping for anywhere from 10-12 hours a day. It took a week to get used to, but the sleep did wonders for my recovery. I could believe the training I was able to do - it was far beyond any I imagined, and it works wonders. If you are training hard, I don't believe in the idea of too much rest. However, depending on your lifestyle, get as much sleep as allows and is reasonable from you perspective. I hope you can use this example of my experience.
