Likewise. I haven't been here long but Alan's advice has helped me a great deal with a strength program this winter.
Thanks for putting up with all the bs here, Alan. You're one of the few constructive voices around.
Oh there's more....
Rx Muscle, NPC Kentucky, Lightweight, about 20lbs after my running prime.

I've also enjoyed reading your posts over the years, Alan.
I'm curious do you run at all anymore or have you given it up entirely? If so, why?
I run but not competitively. In a good week I might run 10-15 miles. With wife and daughter I simply did not have the time, or was willing to give myself the time, to do the training that was needed to keep improving. So with the urging of my co-workers I did a complete 180. I had over the few years before then started to include some form of resistance training while maintaining 80-100+ miles a week and had two PRs at opposite ends of the spectrum (5k and marathon). It just became much easier to lift for an hour than to run for up to two hours both physically and mentally. I had thought of entering a 5k this last fall when I was cutting weight for my contest and given what I was running on the roads at the time I probably could have still broken 17. Today? I'd be lucky to run 19 minutes..;)
