Wanjiru has bad company in Kenya. Since he came back from Japan he hangs out with his pot-bellied, six-pack childhood friends and neighbors who are good for nothing. These folks have nothing going on in their lives except drink and drink. But it is Wanjiru's own choice that is messing him up. He has no discipline at all. As a runner especially of his stature, he should be hanging out with the likes of Tergat, Lel and Cheruiyot, exchanging ideas on how to get better at running. Maybe if he goes back to Japan then he will bounce back since he will be away from his rural folks and will be closely monitored by his Japanese coach. He see him almost getting beat real bad this year. Don't expect much from him. Our eyes should be on James Kwambai, Abel Kirui and the rebounce of Martin Lel.

I am Kenyan and a great fan of Wanjiru but I havve to call a spoon a spoon. Hopefully someone will read this and talk to him because I want him back running as the Wanjiru of 2004-2008. I want to see him break the world record. I know he is very capable. Since he won the olympics he has changed. I hope he is not going the Chelimo(Pamela Chelimo) way.After the Olympics, he started doing parties for his friends which accounts for his weight problems. Hopefully these "hate" will inspire him back to action.
