Anyone ever run the Crystal Springs course in Northern CA? What are your thoughts on how to race it?

    ...aaannnd, Summers and Rowe really came through in the D2 race. Summers 14:41 is tied for #7 all time on the course in some VERY elite company. Fastest time since 1985. Mountain View ran the #3 all-time team time behind Jesuit (1985) and Mission San Jose (1978). Check out the lists:

    Wow!!! McQuitty runs 15:03 (a time that would have been considered very studly in any other year) and gets 4th!!!

    Very solid field in D2. We had our section meet today in the SJS and D2 will send some quality teams to the state meet. It should be a great meet in two weeks!

    Garrett Rowe has been under 15 a couple of times, including this year, and Gunn's Paul Summers has run 15:01--if conditions are good, both these guys could make a big dent in the all-time list.

    I remember winning a race there like 7 or 8 years ago. Tough course, and only ran it twice but I found that really relaxing that first half mile to mile and then hammering the rest works well. When I went 15:20something I was in about 15th coming up the steep hill and ended up winning by a good margin. I always liked hills though so don\'t know if that will work for you.
