What a cop out. You are a phoney of the highest degree. "Protecting the names?....BS. Protecting them from what?

Pretty easy to figure out who are the top multi/field event coaches in the Big 12, who would have been offered the job. Think Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas State.
Yes, big difference between being spoken to and being offered a job (contract inked?). Lananna spoke with everyone. Ask Frank Zarnowski (decathlon guru) who HE thinks are the best coaches - I guarantee Lananna did.
There is a mid-western coach who Lananna was interested in, but uprooting his family and the late point in the season made it unattractive to go to U of O. Again, peeps, this was a temporary hire. Lananna is not sure what to do with staffing overall.
Marra is a terrific choice. Not Dan Steele, and surely Steele has left a gaping hole, but a great coach, motivator, and person.
Hoosier has it right. What would be the big deal in naming a coach who was so highly regarded that Vin would offer him a job? And what would be the big deal to name a coach who actually turned down an Oregon job? I'd say you would be doing them a favor to name them. So, I repeat that you are full of B.S.

It's not fair to the athletes at those schools. If they knew that their coach was offered a job somewhere else and seriously thought about taking it. It's better that they never hear about it.
