Thanks to USC for putting on one of the best Cross Country meets ever held in North America !

If you were one of the top finishers in the race then I was the winner of the race. And there was plenty of water for me. This is another reason why the baby blue Bruins are the most hated team in the Pac-10.

By the way, congratulations on youe trifecta. You got your head coach, distance coach, and sprint coaches all fired last year. Another banner year in Westweird. I can't wait until the Bruins come up to Eugene for another dual meet pounding.

The Pac-10 has a rotating schedule when it comes to hosting the Championships. Every ten years each school gets to host the meet and set up the course they want to run. When the meet is in Pullman, Washington, you can count on a hilly difficult course. When the meet is in Tucson, you will get a golf course with lots of bumps that disrupt your rhythm. And when you USC hosts the meet, you will see a fast flat course.

I am a person that prefers to run on hilly courses. I am a strength runner and I hate fast courses. But I am not for preventing anyone from setting up a flat fast course. After all, its cross country. As much as I would have loved for the USC course to have been hilly, I understand why it wasn't. It was their turn to host the meet. And to get real blunt here. They can set up the course any damn way they please.

So here is some advice to all of you complaining cry babies. When your school hosts the Pac-10 meet you can run it any way you please. Just don't bitch about it when someone else sets up a course that is not to your liking. After all, its cross country. If you can't adjust then you will never make it in this sport.

I agreed with him that coaches want to save their runners legs for the next two races and if he was being sarcastic and thinks they don't then he is wrong, how is that falling for anything? I know most of the Pac-10 coaches and that's what they do, along with trainging through the race!

You guys charged for the program? How much did it cost last year at Eugene? Nada! Quit patting yourself on the back for hosting a decent meet, that's what it was, and quit trying to make it something it wasn't. BTW, the results were not transmitted to the internet sites for over three hours--totally unacceptable in today's world.

There was no entry fee to watch the PAC-10 Championships. If you wanted to purchase the program/brochure that cost something.

I don't get all this nit-picking negativity. It was a well run meet, thanks USC; I watched it in person and it was well attended. I got to see runners from California who attend other schools, and everyone was happy to catch up again. Rival schools with parents swapping stories, it was a reunion. Why must everything have the expectation of an extravaganza today? Just enjoy the event, for God's sake.

Those Pac-10 runners would've blown up if they had ran the Big 12 course this year. If anybody gots pics of that race post them... now that's real cross country and Big 12 will rule hard at Nationals. Top conference in the nation.

Overall it was the top XC meet I've been to. The genius who picked a course across the street from a major regional airport should be identified and given honors by the IAAF. The Skylinks Golf Course entrance literaly shares the same traffic lights and street corner as the entrance to Long Beach Airport ! That enabled many of us to fly out early friday morning, get off the plane, walk across the street, catch the competition, then walk back to the airport for the flight home. No rental car, no hotel, no bus, no tram, no subway, no cab, no hitching a ride. That's how ALL CROSS COUNTRY MEETS should be organized.

USC has served as the primary host for two Olympic Games so I'm not surprised at the enormous success they had at the PAC-10 cross country champs. With the same formula, USC should host the IAAF World Cross Country Champs at the same venue. That would be wonderful for the sport.
