Times were slow because no one wanted to take out the pace. Teg knew if he took it out the same thing may happen like last year there was a chance fam would out kick him. Fam knew if he took it out Teg would sit and kick off of him. Boloto took the pace but did not want to make it too fast or it would take him out of contention at the end. And most of the other guys are not experienced enough to take the lead. That was just my account from watching the race. No one wanted to take the pace. Fam, Teg and Bolota should have been way ahead of those guys. I think it is usually won 15-20 seconds faster.

I don't think this is a race people really train for. My guess is Teg is just trying to get in a race or two since he just ran that big PR, and I think I saw where Fam is doing the 10 miler in a few weeks.

Stu received his degree this year and since his home is Portland he can train with Jerry and be in an environment he is comfortable and familiar.

I would say that he will surprise a lot of folks in the next year if he can remain injury free. I don't think that he is that worried about a shoe contract. Given time that will take care of itself.

that was my point to "rainmachine". stu is actually doing something with his life and not mooching off of everyone until they get tired of his act (all while crying about people not giving him stuff) ala trafeh. it kinda pissed me off that someone would even mention stuey in the same sentence as mo as eagon's character is light years ahead imo.

Then there is Derek Dutile from Cow Hampshire finishing just in front of Sanca. Goes from a small hs to Duquesne and leaps from decent 800/1600 kid to smoking fast. Good job.

Yes he does. Ruben Sanca is a true hero in Boston community. Check his facebook profile (and his running blog).

Also, since he lives in Dorchester, he has to worry about car break-in to the Benz, not to mention the possibility stray bullets while he's out on a training run. But this is why he never goes out on a run at night, and does long-runs very early in the morning when sketchy persons are asleep.

Sanca is a true hero, I agree with that but homeboy doesn't have a Benz or a girl. He doesn't drive, and Sanca and Budd broke up, but Ruben Sanca's that dude, so he probabaly got a new girl and a new whip all in the same day

I remember when Ruben Sanca was at the NE-10 conference championships in cross country like 1-2 years ago to collect his awards and all the girls who were on our team (not Umass Lowell) were drooling over him like he's a rock star

he's a true baller, mad respect to Ruben, i thought i saw him drive from the meet in a Benz, but I may have been mistaken. Nate Jenkins needs an upgrade though because i think he got like a Ford Focus
