For those who have run or are running 100 miles a week or so.....?

Hitting mid-90's for a couple months now, getting close to 100 this week.

6:45 wake up and have some toast

7:15 Easy 3-4 miles, breakfast after (bagel or oatmeal with PB and a banana + coffee)

9-11 Class (granola bar)

11 Lunch (turkey sandwich, fruit, yogurt)

12-1 Class

1 PB sandwich

3:30-6 Practice- 8-12 miles, strides, some form of lifting or core (clif bar after)

6 Dinner (stir fry over rice, lean meat and potatoes, pasta, etc, salad, glass of milk)

7-10:30 Homework + snack

10:30 Go to sleep

You'll be tired, a lot.

Not sure what the big deal is.

Did 115 per week while working 2 jobs, ran 18-20 on Sunday and 5-7 every morning during the week and then ran about 6pm for the rest, usually 10 or so with tempo runs once per week and fartlek or track stuff once per week. Sat was always easy 5am and 5-7pm.

If doing 100 or more per week is too tiring, don't do it, maybe you aren't cut out for it.

after a fall, cross country season of doing 100 mile weeks in college, i totally blasted all of my prs on the track that indoor and outdoor season. I would run an easy 6 miles every morning, then our afternoon sessions in the fall, would always be between 10-12 miles of running. Interval miles on monday, hard 10 miler on wednesday and the in between days, a steady 12-14 miler.

M: 10mi am, 5mi pm

T: 8/4

W: 10/5

H: 12/6

F: 10

S: 20

SU: 10

Morning runs start between 5:30-6am. Evening runs were usually at 7. Work 8:30-6ish, eat a sandwhich at my desk. Eat dinner around 8, out like a light by 9:30. Naps on Sat and Su to catch up.

Previously ran up to 90 during marathon training. So, 100 wasn't too bad. Only wished that I had more time in the evening to better split up miles. 10 milers are a bit dull after a while. Did this as base building. Will now run a bit less and get into a marathon training cycle.

If you want to stay out and go to bars, you will not be able to keep up with 100 mpw. That much running requires a bit of a monastic lifestyle. But, it is worth it. You will get a major boost in your fitness if you have never done that kind of mileage before.

Lots of food on sundays oh and drink constantly, atleast something every hour, typically gatorade after a run

Yes, I found that drinking a lot of beer really helped recovery. I usually had 3-5 16oz. beers a day in those years and just about always felt better the next day than when I had only 1 or 2 beers.

Get up , few bites of oatmeal and some fluid. Run 6 to 8 max. Come home eat light breakfast. Shower, off to work/school. Picking till lunch, eat lunch. Fast and long release carbs. Late evening about 10 hours. Main workout. Total about 9. Hurray home Eat, shower study for 3 hours. Light snack glycogen and electros. Early to bed. Shift and adapt all week to attack and assault my body with rest and recovery just like I attack my body with planned runs. When you have good fitness things are alot easier. Sunday long run 1 hour and 40min.

I lost my job and just ran for a while, it was amazing. Typical schedule-sleep in until 9 or so, sometimes just 8 or sometimes 10 depending on how late I was up. run, Eat breakfast, shower, eat lunch, chill out and play poker online or something until 6, run with group usually hard, eat dinner, shit around or hang out with girlfriend/friends until 12, get to bed by 1 generally. It was perfect, except that I didn't make any money. I was never tired.
