You are discussing why one fictional character beat another fictional character. Who cares? It's not REAL. At least when it's about someone's time it has actual value. I love the Rocky movies, but to discuss why Rocky beat Drago is a huge waste of time, but hey, if you have no life then why not make a post like this.
So you think this discussion about fiction is wasteful? Ever read a good book and then decide to talk about people it involved? Ever read a poem and try to interpret it?
There is nothing wrong with transference of fictional storylines into day to day conversation. It is the very bedrock of critical interpretation, and appreciation of the written word (in this case, the written word finds itself in the guise of a moving picture)

I'm saying discussing how Rocky was able to defeat Drago- in detail- is wasteful when you could be talking about other things. The story as a whole isn't a waste, but to focus in on that part, which in real life might not even be "possible", is just pointless.

Once on Letterman, they had children's questions to God. One of the questions was, "If Rocky fought Rambo, who would win?"
Also, in the movie, "Stand By Me" there is an exchange between Vern (played by Jerry O'Donnell) and Teddy (played by Corey Feldman) that goes something like this:
Vern: Do you think Mighty Mouse could beat up Superman?
Teddy: What are you, cracked?
Vern: Why not? I saw the other day. He was carrying five elephants in one hand!
Teddy: Boy, you don't know nothing. Mighty Mouse is a cartoon. Superman's a real guy. There's no way a cartoon could beat up a real guy.
Vern: Yeah, maybe you're right. It'd be a good fight, though.

Rocky has the strongest chin of any fighter I've ever seen. His defense sucks so he's developed a strong chin by taking shots for years. Obviously Drago had never been past the first round, similar to Lang, so he just had to weather the storm and get it out of the first.
Rocky IV was like Rocky III just with a Russian twist.

Who would win between Clubber Lang and Ivan Drago?
Drago was just a big young talent. Never really tested in the USSR. Lang come up through the ranks and BEAT Rocky. Granted it was an overconfident undertrained Rocky but he BEAT him.
Clubber Lang > Ivan Drago
