McMillan actually assumes equality of preformance and is not really the same as~ has done some 400 training~.
If you run a 400 at the same level of excellence or competence as a 2:30 marathon you will run X for 400m(54.7 your figure.) It(and most calcs) does not mean and should not be used to say ~ if you run X for z you WILL run Y for z minus 41795m.
