You are right about Bolt's notoriety among the great unwashed, and that may well be "good" for athletics, but I just don't enjoy watching his antics. It interferes with my vicarious enjoyment of his performance. Which is too bad.

no small point, he is positively influencing his opponents. Powell got third and he looke happier than when he was holding the world record. Its kinda like being gainfully employed and not being bitter at somebody just because they won the lottery.

I'm really tired of people with you attitude. As far as I am concerned, Bolt can do whatever he wants to celebrate a WR run like that or an olympic gold like Beijing. My post-race celebration would put his to shame and probably piss you off beyong belief. But no matter what you say, at the end of the day, Bolt still ran a 9.58 100m and you, most likely, still can't break 12 seconds. Sucks.
If I'd just run 9.58 I'd whip it out right there and then, no question. A man can dream ....
