My point is that this is the ACC. You have to compete against coaches like Vigilante, Watson, Harvey, Thomas, Henes, Geiger, etc, etc. Sure the ER girls had a lot of success but there is more to college coaching, especially at the ACC level. The most glaring thing about Maryland is that they just lack the talent. Dunham has no college recruiting experience. Maybe he could coach the talent once it's there but first he has to get it on the team. Recruiting at the college level is not easy (particularly when you are talking about recruiting against the names I listed above). Dunham may be a good coach but I still don't think it would be the best thing they could do for the program right now. It seems fairly obvious that Maryland doesn't have the funding to hire somebody like Vig, Watson, or Harvey, but they could still find somebody who's fairly young and has the energy and know how to build Maryland into a factor of some sort in the ACC.
