yeah definately the discus, with that wing span and explosiveness it would be what he would best be suited for.

I think he is better suited to the javelin.

not saying he couldnt be a good javelin guy but you look at most elite javelin throwers and they arent close to 6'7 and 270#. Most are 6"2 about 185#, more like decathletes and real flexible.

ever see the videos of him and the celtic players messing around?
I have a feeling that video could fetch a high price.
Idk if this has already been said but Lebron did one year of track in high school. His event...high jump.
I'll give a dollar to anyone who can guess his correct height down to the quarter of an inch.
6' 9.5"...give me my dollar!
discus. doesn't require the strength of a shot putter.

what?! no, not even close
I think you're not informed well enough.
The man could put his arm up to his elbow in the hoop as a senior in high school and you dont think he can jump higher than 7 ft?!
definitely the tj
if gregorio at 6'6 3/4" & 215 can jump 17.90, lebron with probably comparable/better speed & undoubtedly better vertical leap shoud be capable of 18++ ( but he'd need to lose 20 pounds+ )
you guys are overrating Lebrons athletics ability, he isn't even the quickest or best jumper in the NBA, what makes him such a great baller is that he is pretty explosive AND big.if you think that Lebron has better speed and vertical leap than Gregorio, you are nuts.
gregorio doesn't have lebron's "athleticism" which is close to best in NBA
who do you think are more "athletic" - elite of NBA or top-10 tj'ers in world ?
( hint : mike conley & idowu are basketballers who coudn't make the grade )
imo, tj, despite being around 100y+ is most underdeveloped of jump events & suffers with weakest talent pool
an empirical relationship for a lj'er who coud convert all their talent to tj is
tj = lj * ( pi - 1 )
try it to see what lj abilty is "required" to tj 18m
( bear in mind though wind makes helluva lot of difference in tj :
2m/s = ~ 2% )
having a high vertical leap does not mean you can be a high jumper. technique and flexibility are probably more important. i have around a 40 inch vertical leap, i am 6'3, and i can barely high jump six feet. a teammate of mine has only a 29 inch vertical, but he can get around 6'7. lebron isnt flexible enough to get much over 6 ft. even though he has 42 inch vert.
Given his personality and the fact that he loves the spotlight lebron would definitely be a sprinter. But his best event would be decathlon. He is a pure athlete with strength, agility, quickness, jumping ability, even endurance.
To all those who say he is too big or too heavy - you have to realize that he bulked up a ton for basketball. If you catch him as a kid and convince him to do track instead of basketball he would be lean and mean.
No doubt there are some other NBA guys who could be great in the high jump if they stayed lighter, but every reasonably tall kid or any kid who can jump goes to basketball.
We've named about 8 events, surely he could do pretty well in a Dec!
If Lebron lost 15 lbs..
100M 10.6
400M 48 sec
jav..far as shit
disc..far as hell
shot..far
long jump..24 feet
high jump 6'9
pole vault..lowest height
110M HH.. good
1500M.. very bad.
kickin' ass and takin names
