What about the yeast? How many tiny organisms had to die for your alcoholic beverage?

That's awesome!
A beer mile at my university was the dmr (drunken mile relay). Teams of two each drink a 6 pack while alternating quarters. Goes like this: all competitors are issued a six pack (normally genny), everyone slams two beers, leg one gets on the starting line and slams beer number 3 then runs a quarter tags leg 2 and repeat. Everyone runs a mile drinks a six pack. Winners puke early and generally ran high 5:00, clock started after the first two beers.

Joggling is really fun (of course you need to be able to juggle pretty well first). I would like to train seriously to attempt to break the world record in the 800. I've done 2:35 in trainers and pants. But I never keep the training going. Maybe it's because joggling isn't that serious.
There's an eggnog mile in Sacramento that was won in 5:09 last year. Egg nog has got to be harder than milk.
The issue isn't just the liquid - as others have said its the carbonation bubbling around making you burp/throw up.
Additionally, part of what makes a beer mile hard/slower is that you have to drink out of cans. Its much harder to chug a can while out of breath than it is to gulp down a glass of liquid.

yeast is not in the kingdom animalia, therefore it is OK for vegans to consume yeast and by-products of yeast (alcohol, bread, nutritional yeast).
being vegan is about not consuming/using animal based products and by-products.
What about breathing?
The fastest I've seen was 4:45ish. I was in that race, he beat my by almost a minute.
what about it?

Which is exactly why a lot of beers are not vegan. A lot of beers are made using animal by-products like casein, glycerin, etc.
British beers that use fining agents (to clear up the beer) made from fish bladders aren't so vegan.

I had some friends who did a version of the mile mile, but they did a quart of milk each lap instead of a glass. Throwing up called for a penalty lap. I think it took 30 minutes for the winner.
these boys need to train like the Goose
A high school kid from Winter Park, Fl ran a 4:40 milk mile last May. He's now running for a top D1 school in the southeast.
