I took Manzano's splits and talked to him after the race.
This is his first race of the year and ran the 1200 over the 1600 as part of the training plan. He seemd pleased with closing in 53. and being in the mix. Cook has him geared toward progressing through the summer season.
He ran a lot of races in college but not much over seas. I'd like to see how fast he goes this year with the altitude base and adjusted racing schedule.

Lincoln was at the back of the pack and was 2:04 at the 800. Closed in 52 mid. Went by Manzano and everyone really easily in the last 200.

Lincoln is a pretty cool guy too. Ive met him and hes seen me race, he seemed pretty stoked when I ran well, and I am nowhere near his level.

Wow, how relevant ! I hope the U.S. wins a gold medal in the DMR at the 2009 IAAF World Outdoor Championships in Berlin, the 2011 IAAF World Outdoor Championshiops in Daegu, the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, and the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Maybe no one was expecting the performance that Canada gave but then again, perhaps they should have. Remember they had two world championship medalists on this team for the legs that they ran, plus an olympian in Brannen. Lincoln was perhaps the only person on their relay that should have exceeded informed expectations.

Kithi is the same guy who anchored Kenya to a DMR win last year at Penn so its not like he's totally unheralded. They made a huge deal about his age during last years telecast, I missed this years.
