It keeps growing. Today the regional university track association suspended the whole Nittai track team for 3 months, i.e. the entire season, and took away the ekiden team's spot for next year's Hakone Ekiden.
This is insane. The charge was never proven, right? And even if it was, I would still say..REALLY?
Japan may have less murder and such, but if rulings like this are the reason why, count me out. If a man in Japan kills someone, do they also send his family, neighbors, friends, and co-workers to jail with him?
There is a reason the conviction rate in Japan is 99%, and Amnesty International describes the criminal justice system in Japan as "deeply flawed".
I agree. AI is right about the Japanese CJ system abusing human rights. How else could they possibly acheive a 99% conviction rate.
AI has also slammed the U.S. CJ system for secretly sanctioning and condoning the U.S police policy of roadside executions and beatings, and plantings of evidence onto thousands of black males each year in the United States.
AI has slammed Isreal for religious apartheid, torture, mass murder, genocide, etc.
AI has slammed Russia, Syria, Egypt, Pakistan, Iraq, India, China, Iran, etc. for gross violations of human rights.
If you are saying that the CJ systems in Japan and the US are similar to Russia, Syria, Egypt etc....you are correct.
How do you get out of jail in a developing country - you pay a lot of money.
How do you get out of jail in the US - you pay a lot of money.
Face it - in Japan you are guilty until they decide you are innocent. So the whole system encourages you to fall on your sword, or The Leviathan will slam down upon you.
Teammates firing up? ...confess, or all of you are going down
Arrested for murder? ....confess, or you will be sentenced to death. No appeal etc.
The means of enforcement are fear for ones own well-being. The GROUP is punished, rather than the individual. Just like in the military - one guy f@#ks up, and the whole unit has to do push ups etc. Guess who gets a ton of sh!t later that night.
If you try to point out, "Mr. X is stealing millions of yen every month! He is a public servant" you better have proof, or you are going down.
The place stinks...and always has....safe...sure...but at what cost?
pot should be legal
just think if usain bolts team took that strong a stance against him because he said he at one time tried pot, the sport of track would have lost a superstar.

I was just thinking about that. They would have also torn up his hometown track and made Asafa and the other Jamiacans miss the rest of the season too.
They also teach their pilots to fly into battleships. Not a very smart bunch I would say.

That doesnt make AI right.
if europe in the 1500's hadn't invaded asia, stole land, and murdered. if the u.s. hadn't invaded china, hawaii, philipines and raped millions of women and children, japan and asia would not have had to respond in self-defense. but that's the past. arguing what if's are useless today. today islam has proven again that the u.s. and europe are paper tigers, afraid to fight man to man, they have tried to use machines against mujahadin to no avail. japan and china rule the world. islam will join them next to spread freedom and democracy across the globe.

Islamic nations will spread "freedom" when mice start writing doctoral theses in applied mathematics. Unless your definition of freedom is different from my definition, which is "the general right to do whatever you want, so long as you don't infringe upon someone else's person or property, without interference from any person or entity."
Islamic freedom seems to basically mean the right to stone anyone you don't like to death while calling them hilariously colorful epithets like "pig" and "dog."

By the way, thanks for introducing to yet another highly addictive website!
sour grapes. the u.s/eur lost the wars with islam and with asia. now the u.s. bubble gum economy is melting down more every month. the u.s. is the joke of the world. islam and asia rule the world now.
Nope. They don't. Show us how if you're so convinced. If your argument is based solely on the economy, you obviously don't realize that being the biggest player in the world market (which is debatable, anyway) does not equate to ruling the world.
Yes, the US also collapsed in 1929 and was never the same again.... oh wait. No. The US economy will come back. Like every economy ever.
