Lagat seems like a great guy and I didn't like seeing him hobbled with the old man achilles problem last summer. Is Lagat going to go after the World Indoor record in the mile? (El G at 3:48?)

He's within 3 seconds (his outdoor pr's are 3:26 and 3:47), nothing crazy about that. And of course there is no such thing as Mexican or Kenyan blood. I refer to that just because, like the concrete "joke" and the Teg 10k, this GF can do anything joke has already played itself out.

The 3:47 is not in the same ballpark as 3:26, the time is about 3:44.0, so 3:51 is good but close to 2 seconds/lap behind.
Right, I realize that. I mention the 3:47 just to indicate that he's run faster for the mile, and obviously he has been in shape to run nearly eight seconds faster at the mile outdoors. The point is that he may soon be in shape to run sub-3:50 and maybe even to challenge El G's indoor record.
I wasn't responding to you, just picked the last one. However there is such thing as Kenyan and Mexican blood, though it's diluted at this point, and yes it was a joke the first time.
The GF thing was in response to some more serious GF promotions on this thread.
I think Lagat still has it in him to take down Scott's outdoor 2K AR (though Webb could too) of 4:52. Problem is actually getting an opportunity to race it.

IAAF list looks to be out of date... this one is a little better.

so it looks like bilal mansour ali and alan webb are in about the same shape. i don't know how the race went though; ali could've gone out too hard or led too much. i didn't see the race. i think webb will be okay, but i think the tyson mile will be a better indicator of his progress right now. it definitely looks like webb has realized that he needs to race more often in order to get back into good shape. i'm glad to see him making this move. hopefully we'll see him at the drake relays again this year.

1) He used drugs, delayed the B test like Marion Jones did so they'd test negative, and beat the rap because they knew how to beat EPO which has since been proven, so his Negative b sample is moot. He should be banned for life, not celebrated.
2) He competed for Kenya when he was not a Kenyan citizen and told no one, and shouldn't have been allowed to compete at the Olympics. His Medal should be stripped from 2004.
