Here is a female that can break all the men's world records from the 100m to the marathon.
Here is a female that can break all the men's world records from the 100m to the marathon.
what kinda time period are we talking
cuz if any of the guys mentioned had a good amount of time for training (ie 6 months straight sprint training, etc.) they could do it
i'd say webb, lagat (who hasn't been mentioned?), ramzi, and maybe bekele would have the best shot
There is no man capable of running a 10.49 100m and a 2:16 marathon. BK, Geb and Webb could come close, but the 10.49 100m would be the problem.
10.5 and 2:15?
Aouita maybe...
Bucher maybe - he was a 5k runner ~14:00 and then dropped down to the 800.
Snell - 22.x, and ran a hilly 2:22(2:24?) 6 weeks before his WR 1:44 on a grass track.
10.4 is really fast- a speed based 800m guy with tons of speed like Borzakovski would be the longest distance runner who could do that and there's no way he could do anything longer than 10k. He might not even be able to beat the best women's 5k runners.
Anyone other than me finding it embarassing we're mentioning all these big time male middle distancd runners, and the fact that they can't break the women's 100m record being the toughest for them?
Correct... at the moment, it seems we would need two guys, a 400/800 guy who is also fast at 100-200, and a 1500-Marathon guy like Rod Dixon. Or maybe a 100-400 guy and a 800-Marathon guy.No one guy could do it all, even though there might be some that could to do 400-Marathon.Plus it needs to be a 2:15 Marathon, not 2:16.

There is no way they could have run 10.49, but the same goes for a legal FloJo so..... what is the next best Women's mark?
Once you elimiate the cheating yanks we should be looking for around 10.7.
http://www.iaaf.org/statistics/toplists/inout=O/age=N/season=0/sex=W/all=y/legal=A/disc=100/detail.htmlthis thread is stupid, you don't even need to look to a man, Flojo could have had all of the women's records if she wanted.
Steve Cram?
Didn't he close some 1500s in close to 11 flat? Granted, that's with a running start...but that shows some pretty incredible speed.
Maybe Seb Coe?
Rod Dixon has shown his ability over a wide range of distances. Olympic medalist in the 1500 and winner of the NYC Marathon. 100 might be his problem.
Webb that is a joke
Dixon 1:47 800
2:08 marathon our best bet.
C'mon... Only thinking of distance runners? Usain Bolt and Jeremy Wariner could break all of them. Usain Bolt could break all of the Men's WR.
Uhhh are we forgetting about the hurdle events???
NO!

So, is there any man able to do it? There's no question that Bekele can break the women's world records from the 800 to the marathon, but can he also run faster than 10.49/21.34/47.7 in the sprints? What about other elites? Could El G or some other middle distance runner do it?
Although Daniel Komen (the good one) never ran many diverse distances, I believe that he could have. Anyone with enough strength to run 7:20 for 3k (on pace to beat ANY OTHER 2 MILER by OVER 100m!) You have to be able to crank out a good marathon with a few months of distance work. And, he had plenty of speed. El G couldn't even touch him in the 3k.
EL G!!
No. Not Aouita. Not Webb, Not anyone. There are many who can break most of them. No one who can break all of them.

Uh, do you know anything about the women's 100m WR? It was run a woman who was almost undeniably dirty as shit under illegal wind conditions. The device that measures wind speed malfunctioned during her race and read 0.00 so the time was allowed, but it had been blowing well over 2.0m/s all day. There's a video of it on youtube.
Most of the women's records are from druggies. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.
And the men's records are all clean? I would fathom a guess that most of the men's records from druggies, too. You are equally a fool not to think this.
It's funny that everyone suspects FloJo but not Bolt!
***men's records are from druggies...
Even ignoring any doping issues, the women's 100m record is 10.49 only in the official books. It simply should not have been approved. So adjust:
Can any man break ALL of the women's flat running event world records from the 200m to the marathon and break 10.62?
That's a far more interesting question, because it just might be possible.
The better question is whether all of the women's flat records can be broken on the same day?
Too bad hurdles aren't included. I'd love to see Alan Webb try to run 12.21, even over 33" hurdles!
