Can anyone give us live updates of the 3k???
BTW I apologize for giving the 1000 result. I assumed it had been on earlier and that I had missed it.

It worries me a bit.
2:16 isn't that great.
Times are not what I was looking at. He had a kick off of a pretty quick pace. He looked like he did just before the games and for the last couple of years.
It was a BAD time to have a bad week during the olympics
How is it possible that Lagat can get such a huge lead over Symmonds in a 1000m? That's just unreal.
unfortunately, that is what the olympics are all about; you can train for 4 years, have a little injury, stomach virus, etc. at the wrong time and "you are screwed". And in Bernards case, his 1500 chance ended in Beijing. He may have a shot at the 5 and 10 in London if he chooses to continue for 4 more years.
so i just caught the end of the 1000m. what have i missed? are the 3ks still to come? women's 1500?
What can Symmonds possibly be thinking about in a 1000M going by in what must have been close to 1:50? that these guys were coming back to him?
If he is even near it he may get close here.
Christian Smith? How did he even get in, he ran 2 decent, not even great races all year.
I thknk Smith ran 2:19 Indoors 3 years ago?

Bekele makes it look easy.
wow, not a good showing for Teg who never engaged at all in this race, not even close.
At least he has a marginal reason as he ran in Beijing.
Nor was Solinsky even close and he was in the vicinity most of race but gave away another 10-11 seconds in last 400 to field, at least he made a go of it.but obviously neither is as fit as a year ago, after a review of all their races.
If Solinsky could find a way to finish, he'd have something as he isn't afraid to go with a quick pace. Seems all he has done all season is run hard until the last lap or 2 then crawl home in pain. Hope that changes as he gets older.
Solinsky ran 7:37 already last year and 13:12 and 3:37?
He has not approached any of these marks, and should be relatively fresh, has a very lightly raced year.
I am a big Solinsky fan, but he is not the same guy right now, nor has he been all Track season.
Neither has Tegenkamp been nearly the same threat he was and some people refused to see that, not at a single distance.

I think Smith ran 2:19 Indoors 3 years ago?
Why would you think Symmonds should beat lagat and willis anyways? Both should beat him at 1k. You make it sound like he should have won. These guys coming back to him? You do know 217.5 is 150 pace don't you?
And why is Chritian Smith in it? He has run 145 this year, he beat 3 guys in this race, and has run 144 high and 338 in the past. There's no reason he shouldn't be in the race.
Sounds like you're a bit to in love with Symmonds to see the facts of the others in the race.
You are quite wrong in your assessment of my opinion of Symmonds, in fact it is the opposite.
As an avg. miler , and a 1:44 guy, this is a distance he should EAT up. He sat too far back as he always does.
And please do not point to Chistian Smith's 1:45 this year, it was his only EVEN decent race and not a PR anyway. He has had a very poor year overall, look up every result making our 800 team is hardly the big deal anyone would make that out to be.
800M running is twenty+ years behind what was competitive then for the U.S.

Let's quit giving annual predictions of BK's records being broken, and therefore disrespecting BK. Besides Lagat, no one's come close... and that includes Teg's 1-time 13:04. BK's 5K record is a 7:48 3K pace.
