Where I coach...the other coaches are financial consultants, one is a banker, a couple work for the sheriff's deparment on third shift, I work at a fitness center and work morning hours.....there are tons of jobs out there. But being a teacher is the most convenient and you can usually get someone to cover your missed classes for meets pretty easily and still get paid.
I would love to see a teacher put in more than seven hours a day......when I walk into the school they are streaming out the door. Teachers have gotten in to the habit of doing some serious whining when they have a really good thing going....great benefits, great vacations and they don't have a long day. And they can retire at 52.
