Ezekiel Kemboi is owed a big apology by Fam -- face to face. He's the only guy I've ever heard who has alluded to Kemboi as a cheater. Kemboi has never, ever been found guilty of doping. Not once.

I don't care about winning a cyber-war with you, coach. Fam called out runners saying they're cheating. WHO is cheating? You can't accuse a whole flock of people and say everyone is cheating? So everyone walking down the street is a criminal, right? How do I know? Well, they just are because I said so -- that's Fam's logic.

He is accusing people of cheating and saying he hopes to get a podium spot by beating cheaters. So if he does get a podium spot, the people who heard him say this who think he's right are going to think all the people behind him are cheaters. He paints with a very broad brush.

Which guys are cheaters? Why doesn't he name them? How is this changing the subject, coach? Fam said the runners in his sport are cheaters and for him to get a podium spot, he has to beat a lot of cheaters. Really? Which ones? If he beats a Kenyan or an Ethiopian, are they cheaters? Is Fam a cheater? I could say that, just shoot from the hip, and who would know the difference? I won't because I don't know if Fam is cheating or not. I would need to see drug test documentation. So far Fam has not been caught cheating so I'll go on the facts that he's not cheating.

He called out people, people here called him on it and want him to name names.

Which athletes are cheating according to Fam? Maybe Fam will grow a pair and name names or tell the people to their face that they're cheating. Until then, he's just full of hot air.

I think this is all a part of Fam's mystique. All i know about Fam is from watching the promo's for his movie (he has a movie for Pete's sake) Run Like Hell, and reading a few articles. I think he tries to conjure a "Pre-ish" mentality, so it's kind of like getting really offended by the class clown for cracking wise at a school assembly, its not like you don't expect it.

That being said, I think if anyone beleives that a 100% of competitors in that race will be clean of drugs are dillusional. It's the elephant in the room that we just don't need to comment on because I for one just assume them to be using. So his comments may be justified, but rather redundant.

As for his movie, I don't care if he makes one or not, I'd like to see it.

He needs to own up to his cheating statement, however. Which guys who beat him or which guys he defeats at the Olympics will all be in question because of that ESPN article. Granted, many running geeks with decent B.S. detectors won't buy Fam's schtick. But that's a general interest magazine, most people who get it aren't track nuts.

I wonder if Fam will identify the cheaters in his race at The Olympics. If he's going to make bold statements, he needs to stand behind them.

The schtick here is that Fam's steeplechase run will be "against the corrupt system." You see? He's clean, but the guys at top are dirty. He's a athletics' version of Mr. Smith.

As for his comments, it should be clear about what he meant by coach's clarifications. He is saying that people WILL cheat. Are any of you naive enough to believe that everyone racing the steeple in the olympics will be clean?

The guy ran a gutsy trials race, reminiscent of pre, and all we give him is sh*t. So cheer for the Kenyans you losers. I'm sure Fam will care.

Hey coach, you accuse others by not being great at debate and you've called people "asshat" here and have been insulting and sarcastic. I'd guess you weren't on the debate team either. Pot-kettle-black.

Coach isn't owning anyone here. He's apologizing for an outrageous statement by Fam. Suppose the entire Olympic final is clean -- it's possible, the testing is done at a pretty high level now -- and Fam gets beat. Does that still mean people ahead of him are cheaters?

And what about the trials? Because he won, does that mean the rest of the field did not cheat?

Want to talk about not being on the debate team or using logic, Fam comes across as incredibly ignorant, dumb, uneducated, and clueless.

Setting aside for now the whole "who's on drugs and who isn't" business, just having watched him at the Penn Relays as well as OTs, he dominated.

Sure, if someone's taking drugs, they get a performance boost... and yes, too many have medaled who were later found to be cheating... But do drugs guarantee a win?

I'm going to have to agree with what most of coach is saying... Why does Fam have to name someone? He doesn't know exactly who is cheating, how could he. What he does know is that there is a high chance of someone out there cheating. This is, in all likelyhood, a correct statement. I don't see how you can bash Fam for this. I will definitely be cheering for Fam to win it all, but like him, I'm a realist, and will be more than happy for him if he gets a bronze.
