1. Pete Rose. I slid head first as a little leaguer just because Pete did. (I don't think you can do that any more in Little League).
2. Bob MacAdoo
3. Bob Gibson
4. Brooks Robinson
5. Roman Gabriel

KOBE!
All time favorite is Barry Sanders.
I loved to watch him run. Leaving DB's with broken ankles and torn up knees. Could stop and turn on a penny.
Class guy as well. Never show boated. Never spiked the ball. Just did his business and trotted back to the sideline after a TD.
Records never meant a thing to him. Could have had the career rusihg record (Emmit admits he would have retired if Barry had gotten the record) but walked away a year before breaking it.
The sports world needs more Barry Sanders. Or is that Sanderers?

Come on man, you need to be a little less ethnocentric. If I know who Luskin star is( best sprint horse ever), you should know a few of those. By the way, you should have included Van der Hum and Battle Heights and Ian Chappell

Was there the day Van Der Hum won the cup, I was out on the lawn all by myself while 90,000 people tried to shelter from the rain. Geez it pissed down so heavy. I think Gold And Black would have had his measure but for the downpour. Luckily for G And B he got a decent track the next year. BH was a good tough stayer and I won good $ on him when he won the Sydney Cup (74?) and again a few years later when he won the Metropolitan. Chappelli, nah bit of an arrogant so and so. His brother Greg was the better player.
I'm allowed be 1/10 as etnocentric as all the Americans on this board aren't I?
Okay I'll fess up, I do know most of the names being tossed around.
Richie, Fonzie, Ralph, Potsie........what a 4x400meter relay team!!!
