I wouldn't want anyone to get creeped out... and by all means if he is 'staring' or some such thing then you should get creeped out
but you might be being a bit sensitive
maybe others will disagree but as you get older nudity becomes much less of a big deal

Ah, the good old days without political correctness.I went to an all boys school and the highlight of the workout was often the shower because we blocked off the drains and slid around on our asses until the janitor came in and chased us out.
A related question for younger guys and coaches- for the obvious reason of saving money we used to sneak extra guys into hotel rooms on trips. Always 4 in a room and sometimes 6. we would have some kind of protocol so that it wasn't always the same guys sleeping on the floor.
My question is, does political correctness allow a team to put 4/5 guys in a room these days?

He isn't just one of the guys. He is considerably older and an authority figure. That's not to say that it isn't completely innocent in his mind (I've showered in communal showers and people considerably younger than me have been there, but I'm just having a shower), but if it bothers you should mention it to someone higher up. Just say that you find it a little wierd.
My team showered after every run together in college. No big deal. Our coach didn't shower with us, but I don't think that would have been a big deal either. Now if he is staring at you or other teammates that's a problem, but if he's just going in there to shower, get dressed and head home, I see no problem. If you're uncomfortable with it(I can understand that in high school), consider what others have said and anonymously tell the A.D.
Don't tell A.D. anything that isn't true that would get him fired, just tell him/her that you're uncomfortable with it, he'll tell the coach, and the coach will stop showering with the team and it shouldn't be a big deal.

When I was a freshman in high school the guys that didn't shower after phys ed were the outcasts. In high school P.E. we showered after golf just for the hell of it. I'm pretty sure guys have showered together for thousands of years and the ones who don't like it are secretly gay.
So we are clear, he does not shower after every workout. Just once in a while and then only if he runs with us. He only runs with us on our long runs.
He does not "linger" in the shower and does not "stare" at anyone. He is just there. In our high school the coach has an office, but no shower for him specifically.
He does not touch anyone or do anything wierd in there. He is just there.
Maybe I am just overly sensitive. There are a couple guys that shower in their shorts.
I know it is a sensitive topic and I certainly don't want anyone creeped out but the more I think about this the more ridiculuous it seems to mehe is older, he is an authority figure... i'm not sure if that means he can't shower with other presumably hetero guyspart of me wants to just say, get over it and don't be overly sensitive about nudityas someone else said, our country is way too uptight

Played football in HS, not unusual for a coach to be in showers.
So the guy has to wait around for 1/2 hr untill you leave before he can take a shower?

- Respect of privacy. The Boy Scout rule is specifically: Adult leaders must respect the privacy of youth members in situations such as changing clothes and taking showers at camp, and intrude only to the extent that health and safety require. Adults must protect their own privacy in similar situations.
By going into the shower with children (no offense ... I'm just considering it from the eyes of the law) he could potentially be setting himself and the school up for a heap of trouble if he's actually accused of something, rightly or wrongly.
This is unfortunately quite lame. For instance, if the guy has a family or other obligations after practice, it'd be nice if he could just shower quickly and leave.
Instead, if there are no private facilities for staff, he must wait until everyone has showered, changed and left before he can do so himself. Or, just get into his car, smearing the upholstery with sweat, dirt and mud, just because of a fearful, over-reactive and over-protective policy. Again, just lame.
There is something wrong with you when you find same sex nudity embarrassing. Basically,you are embarrassed by your excitement viewing all those dicks around you.

For the record, it is not creepy or strange for a team to shower together after practice. It is a bad idea for the coach for the shower with you. Most school locker rooms will have a separate shower for coaches/officials. He should shower there, shower at home, or wait until you leave. I would let the AD know, even if it anonymous....
