Getting enough sleep was my biggest challenge as a college runner. I needed lots of sleep and rarely got it. Now that I'm out of college, I'm improving a lot and I think sleep is the main factor.
Hear, hear! It's not just the drinking that will hurt you (though it may well); it's the *staying up late* to drink that kills. Most weeks, there won't be ANY night that's a good night for staying up late--that's just the reality.
(Saturday night? Please. After running an 8- or 10-k race, getting back to campus late, and then having to go out at 7:00 or 8:00 the next morning for that lovely Sunday 15-miler, the last thing you'll need or want is a late Saturday night.)
