i second stockton, ca and would like to toss in modesto, ca.

nyc as a "worst city" is a joke, amazing place.

seattle is amazing in the summer and it almost makes you forget about the 10.5 months of rain/clouds. also in the winter you can play in the snow. I am not saying it cant be a dreary depressing place though.

I made Seattle my pick for "most overrated" about 4 "least favorite city" threads ago. Its rival in that regard might be Denver - obviously terrific for being near some of that great outdoorsy stuff that we pretty much totally lack in NYC. But if outdoorsy stuff is your thing, why live in an overgrown cow town with half a million other people instead of something smaller and nicer and closer to all that nature?

Of course Seattle and Denver have their strong points and are not truly heinous like East St Louis and Gary.

Indianapolis might actually be my least favorite nearly-full-sized American city but I sure as hell ain't inclined to spent enough time there to be certain. Shudder.

In the time I was there, summer seemed to last 2 weeks - the last week of July and the first week of August. The rest of the summer weeks, the weather couldn't be counted on. In June, the pollen was so bad my eyes would continually itch and the sneezing got obnoxious. However, those two weeks of summer were pretty good :)

The women weren't the prettiest I seen. I think the lack of sun and the dank weather made them dress like they didn't care about how they looked.

nyc, the worst shithole on on any continent. the only thing worse than nyc are new yorkers, the biggest cry babies on the planet. what an embarrasment ny is.

Any city with 3 casinos can't be all bad. Detroit does need about 50% of the city returned to farmland but I love to visit greektown and the casinos.

I didn't like Houston at all when I was there 3 years ago. I was there this winter and it seemed a little nicer probably because I was only there a few hours.

Daytona Beach has really lost its "fun" over the years. The beach, bars, and eclectic mix of local businesses is being replaced by condos and national chains.

I don't enjoy big cities like NY and Chicago since I am from a small town but that doesn't mean they aren't great cities. It is just a different kind of lifestyle.

Bakersfield, CA. 2nd worst air quality in the nation last time I checked. Doctors recommend not running because it's like running with a cig in your mouth. End of discussion.

gary is flat and small. you're in and you're out just like that. nyc sucks for miles and miles. the attitude gets worse for every loser in ny you fall victim to.

Oildale CA in the north of Bakersfield used to be the Klan capital of Central CA with Oakies exiled from the dusk bowl.

anyplace in new jersey. take your pick. the winter weather sucks. so they tell me last winter, wait for the summer and you can go to the beach- not so much. are you kidding me? guidos as far as the eye can see- no joke- guys actually wearing those wife beaters thinking they look cool. swimming in them even! what?! the girls are RARELY hot. then, when those endangered few open their mouths to speak, you start thinking you'd rather be getting kicked in the balls. not far behind will be the little (in stature) entourages of guidos checking in at a staggering 155 pounds. of course, that is counting the 12 pounds of hair gel the alpha wolf of the pack uses to make that freakshow gotti spiked out circus do. then comes that only seen in dreams hue of orange, glinting off their skin from their recent spray on tan. it reminds you of what someone from the chernobyl fallout might look like if the lights were turned off and they happened to be wearing a dolce and gabbana t shirt knockoff and a tribal armband tattoo. then, unfortunately, you have to drive home. that's when you start thinking that you'd rather be chewing tinfoil. it's almost like a nursing home opened their doors and taught each and every loudmouth temper tantrum throwing pizza maker how to drive. you're threatened with statements such as, "i know people" or my favorite: i know a "made guy". what? are you serious? i cannot wait to get out of this horrible place. picture "escape from new york" set in the winter. i would even pay that big freaking bonus back just to make this calendar year go faster. give me courteous people. give me someone without an attitude. show me a woman who doesn't have a hint of a mustache!!!

I live in NYC, and it needs to be mentioned that the crybaby whining obnoxious people in New York...are from New Jersey. This is pretty well-documented, actually. Do you think we'd speed in cars down our own stoops, fall down drunk outside, and piss on our stoops? No. They just raised the tunnel and bridge tolls from New Jersey but maybe they need to raise them even more.

Flint, Flint, Flint!

I can't believe no one has nominated Flint, Michigan yet! I grew up less than 30 minutes from there and it has been in decline for practically as long as I can remember.

The high point of the year for Flint is the Crim. I mean seriously, a mid-level road race (at best) is this cities big tourist draw.

I won't even go into the gangs, crime, filth, poverty, obesity and utter reliance on old gas guzzling Oldsmobiles & Buicks...
