Definitely do not sell yourself short. If you are cheap, they will wonder is he worth it?
The first time I charged for tutoring I thought 25$ was way too high and I was told as 40$ was the going rate in my area, that is why I did not get as many clients (though I am a certified teacher in that subject)
Find out what others in your area/state if you are in the US charge and use that as a guide.
I charge $56.25 per athelete per session and I get 8 kids at a time.

If you're interested in doing more of this, I would suggest getting a USATF Level I certification. It's a simple two-day course with open book test (at least it was when i did it 10 yrs ago). To parents that aren't really "in the know," it looks way more impressive than it actually is.
I've looked into certification, but there's nothing going on anywhere near me from what I can see off the usatf website. Seems kinda silly not to have more opportunities.
