how did Chad Johnson do, I can`t find his name on the list.

Yup, the city listed is most likley where their manager lives. I can promise that Jeff Schiebler don't live in Gray, TN, but I believe Ray Flynn might.
According to a recent interview on mensracing.com Chad Johnson is racing New York.
Running the first half in 1:06+ is not aggressive by any loose stretch of the definition. I wouldn't worry to much about their performances. It appears that the mantra was "go out consevatively, if feeling good after 15 then rip it, if not just hang in there and make sure you hit your 2:19:59 and Pin's generous bonus." I can't imagine any of those runners hitting 2:18-2:19 if they're racing seriously.
For those of you who are actually competitive runners, you would have checked out the weather reports for Chicago this weekend to get "the feel" of the race. Cool, and breezy, with winds (15 mph) coming from the West. Not perfect for running, not bad either. Given the course orientation, the runners faced the wind in the 14th and 15th miles and should have been at the runners backs during the critical tacks (18-24 miles) back to the barn (talk about mixed metaphors!).

"Dean just raced in society, eager for bread and love; he didn't care one way or the other, 'so long's I can get that lil ole gal with that lil sumpin down there tween her legs, boy,' and 'so long's we can eat, son, y'ear me? I'm hungry, I'm starving, let's eat right now!"

I thought everyone just kind of used Boston and other marathons as a simi final so to speak to make it to the Oly. Trials. Just run as slow as you have to to move up. Why waste the energy unless your gonna be in contention for the BIG MONEY.
It's called competing, genius. You don't go to a race like Chicago to time-trial unless you're someone for whom a 2:20 - 2:22 would represent the best you have to give.

That depends on whether you're in 2:10 shape or 2:15 shape. Although I could be wrong, I'm guessing that Cox, DeHaven, et al. are a lot closer to 2:15 shape these days.

thanx for clearing that up. I was under the notion that miles and miles was actually Chad Johnson. Well can`t believe everything I read on a message board right.
Definately still South African. Russian????
Yeah, Ted missed by 3 seconds. He was bummed, but it was still a great PR for him. He was talking about trying again @ Philly. Anyhow, it was a great day to race. I thank all those in that big ass group that was hitting 5:22ish miles. I lasted for about 20 @ 5 seconds under 2:22, then got fried. It was crazy I felt smooth, and then all the sudden it didn't. Oh well. At least I know I didn't make the mistake of going out to fast. But those 20 miles seemed very easy thanks to about 20-25 other guys who were working together.
Hey Louden...You can't hold your mud.
I told you all that Concord, MA was a great place to train! Great trails, great sense of history, and a great town right outside of Boston.
Look at those top two... represent!
Sorry to say, they train in Boulder under Dieter Hogan. Magnolia at least twice a week at 5:30-5:50 pace.
It's shute, not shoop.
you must not have the fire.

Sure, you can have a bad day but Sell, Cox, Brown, Donnelly, DeHaven, etc. all having bad days together?
i know sell was simply trying to get in a trials qualifier. i'd say it was a good effort a week after running a half marathon pr in portugal.
It was a terrific day for watching the marathon, but a bit warm to race. I jogged for about 40 minutes before the race, and thought the weather was already too warm to run fast. Yes, the efforts up front were quite impressive, but the weather was better in Berlin (I was at both races). The sky was clear, and there was a slight breeze (much less than last year).
Congrats to the PA guys taking it to the big boys! Moreno, Gilmore, McGlynn.
You'll get it at CIM Miles.
Oh yeah, how could I forget Pete Cleusner.
Kudos to Clint Verran for pacing the aspiring 2:20 group through 16 miles yesterday. I know a number of the guys (myself included) in that pack were grateful for and benefited from the organization. I wish Clint and everyone who got their qualifier in Chicago continued health in training. We'll see you in Birmingham.
Pampiniform Plexus another BAA guy that ran tough for his 1st marathon was Wilson Perez former DIII. He was with Sell and Cordes till about 22miles(still on 2:20 pace) not to shabby!
