You do know that Coach Vigil was completely against the strategy that Deena took at the 04' Olympics in the marathon, right? He said so in front of the group at the marathon summit when Dr. Martin presented all his info and ideal strategies.
Vigil did not have his hands in Meb's training and he most certainly cannot tag his name to Ryan Hall's accomplishments.
Did Coach Vigil do some big things back in the day? Yes.
Has Coach Vigil had his share of failures? Yes.
A good coach that certainly did much for distance running but not the end all be all that his followers make him out to be.
Terrance has done an outstanding job and should get the credit for what he and HIS athletes have been doing.

If Gebrselassie wins the Olympic Marathon then he should probably retire. This guy has been around ages i remember in 1993 when he won his first senior title.
A win next year would see him go down as the greatest athlete (not just distance runner) ever. Unbelieveable talent.

If you believe Lagat is on drugs then you are probly one of those who believe that he has been on them for some time. if so, explain why he has competed in two olympic games. I'm sure the people at Athens were testing. If they werent, my bad, but I would guess that they were

There is no limits with drugs...Without drugs we never know the limits. Performance enhancing druggies are scum.
My research concludes that epo gives a runner an 10 second per mile boost. 2:06 marathons are really 2:10's when you add the 10 second per mile rule, and 3:43 miles ain't nothing but 3:53s....What ever did happen to Hi-Sham El G.s teammate who ran 3:43 for the mile and then got bagged for epo?

Sure there are. Most of the womens world records are held by drug users and many of them are OLD records. Assuming that drug use has continued up to the present, no one (clean or on drugs) has come close to the women's 400 and 800 records from the 70s and 80s, Flojo's records in the late 80s, and the Chinese records in the early 90s, all drug aided. Marion Jones ran fast while on drugs but stil nowhere near the world record. This probably means the drugs used in the old days (before out of comp testing) were more effective than what Jones used (which had to pass much more frequent tests).
