Who would you go with?
Personally, I would go with Teg
Possibly Paul McMullen though
TEG?? Why the hell Teg? I don't know him, but he appears to be your typical, skinny, mild-mannered, runner, who is talented as hell at running. Why do you think he would be so great in a fight? Of ALL the runners in history??? Weird choice.
(McMullen certainly was big for a middle distance runner. And Shay is pretty big and seems tough. But Teg?)

Chris Solinksy, dude is like 700 pounds.
Now Chris Solinsky's about nine foot two, twelve hundred pounds. I once saw that man wrestle a boar. He still has the tusks. Uses 'em for chopsticks.
Regina Jacobs. Dude is RIPPED.
would venezualan former 2840 10k runner and 214 marathoner chrisanto espana qualify as an elite runner? he knocked out olympic gold medalist meldrick taylor to win the welterweight title and his only loss in over 30 pro fights was to ike quartey when espana was leading 10 rounds to 1 on all 3 referee cards but got knocked out in the 12th, quartey who lost a controversial decision to oscar de la hoya said espana was by far the best fighter he ever faced, espana said he made more money running 10k's and marathons than he did in boxing until he won the world boxing 147 pound tite.
Gotta go with the easy one.......

how about all american cross country and track star jack cuvo of east stroudsburgh, ask running coach brad hudson if he remembers that jack cuvo runner, who also dabbled in wrestling 2 time ncaa division 1 champion.
speaking of maria mutola, is anybody old enough to remember a girl runner named jarmilla kratochilova?
Fighting is nothing to laugh about, however,
I would go with Solinsky
Ben Johnson
craig mottram
Alberto Juantorena.
Cubans are awesome at boxing.
you guys are approaching this with the wrong train of thought... it isn't going to be the "toughest runner" or the biggest runner... the guy who you'd want in a fight is someone known for having a short fuse and would just not give a shit and go after someone. fighting is all about who is the craziest in most cases. which runner fits this profile? i don't know.

Dude...Webb fits that perfectly. I can totally see him blowing a gasket and killing a man!
Just imagine the head butt he could dish out.
Gerry the Jogger
George Young. I probably have the story wrong, but I understand an FBI agent once said he and George could take anyone (individual or group) anytime anywhere. A most intimidating presence.
I'd take Mike LeBlanc.
