I Love Bekele!
wow franki valli has had a sex change
not that spectacualr, didn't Fam finish his 7:41 3k with a 56sec lap?
Obviously, he looked really good at the end, but the whole race seemed like a set-up for him. In fact, it looked as though his last competitor intentionally went wide with about 300 meters to go to avoid impeding him. In some respects, the whole race illustrated some of the problems with the European track circuit as a sporting spectacle -- a bunch of pacemakers who aren't legitimate competitors just directing traffic for most of the "race," followed by the coronation of the pre-race favorite on the last lap.

I suspect that if anyone really could have beaten him today, they would have been happy to have done it.
Kenenisa Bekele is far from being out of shape and being washed up as suggested by the kenyan news article.
I think he proved to the federation that he is on his way back

I suspect that if anyone really could have beaten him today, that runner simply wasn't invited to the race.
But I hope you will understand my point. Perhaps the best 2-miler in the world really did win the race, but it barely qualified as a real race, in the sense that a world or Olympic championship is a real race.
I was also wondering about the leader going wide with about 350m to go.
I'm glad someone else noticed that. It looked as though he was given instructions that, although he could compete to the finish, he must not impede Bekele.
It's funny how everyone knowing Bekele has been down since Mombassa suddenly sees a race where he runs 4:01 for his final mile as being not smooth or in control... Bekele doesnt look happy... He looks worried... the guy is the GOAT as a distance runner, and now everyone can hop back on the bandwagon! I bet he looked as good as ever, and its just people wanting to see something they dont...
