Since when were there age requirements in the NCAA? If I could do it over I would have waited to run in college until I was 25 or 26. I would have been much more competitive.

Why bash this kid? He kicked some serious tail and made the Bama and Arkansas IMPORTS (Kosgei, Forrest) look silly. If he can recover, he is going to be a force at Sacramento. It seems like it is OK if Providence, Nova, NAU, Iona, or Arkansas have foreigners but when Ole Miss does it, it is wrong. Get over it, this kid is a stud. What did happen to Burrell from Georgia though? 3:55, 15:05?

Yea, Sun Belt conference is way more impressive than sweeping distance events from the likes of Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida etc. There isn't anyone right now that could have accomplished what he did (in NCAA). I watched the race, Barnabas could have run 8:20 given some competition, he was having some fun out there. He's only a sophomore, too, and a freshman in CC.
Also, I read on Hogwired it was the first time Arkansas lost the SEC 10k since 2001. :)
Also, who ever said he's 30? Or looks 30? That's a ridiculous claim... he looks young. He is 21 yrs old (I would know, I'm on his team). 20 when he arrived here last spring. He's not Josephat Boit!

I definitely had the chance to meet and chat with the kid after the 5000 and he certainly looks like he is in his young twenties. Now that doesnt mean he is, but his looks back up his claimed age. i wouldnt be suprised if it was legit.

what does winning your conference meet have to do with running at regionals?? is there something i dont know about?
As I understand it conference winnners get to run at regionals.

I think it is an outrageous performance and deserves acknowledgement. However, I don't think it has anything to do with the Ole Miss program. Outside of Ole Miss's two kenyans and one other guy they have no one. Look at their performance at SEC's in cross-country. They had Kirui winning, one other decent kenyan, and one other solid runner, and then the rest of the team finished DFL.
