was the data plotted at 10, 15, 30 second invervals? i too am questioning machine calibration. as previously stated there are many determinants of running performance. fractional utilization, ecomomy, and VO2 are main culprits. additionally are you by any chance a nordic skier. better yet, what is your athletic and fitness background outside of running? lastly, how long have you been running?

Use 0% grade. Some rough estimates of the VO2 numbers you should get -- 230 m/min(7:00 pace or 8.5 MPH) = 45, 250 m/min (6:26 mile pace or 9.3 MPH) = 49, 270 m/min (5:58 pace or 10 MPH)= 53, 290 m/min (5:33 pace or 10.8 MPH)= 57, 310 m/min (5:11 pace or 11.56 MPH) = 61
