Looks to be a good bloke. The 1500/5000 leanings are evidenced by losing close finishes (lack of top-end gear?) Same "problem" in teh mile/1500 as Scott, Holman, Webb, Mottram, etc..

Yeah losing races in kick finishes when he was 19 and 20 is a shame...Mark was a late developer physicaly so his performances at a senior level where not as strong as they could have been. As for nationals this year he was injured made the decision to go back to the US to train for Comm Games and came back with a bronze (much to AAs disgust). He won a mile in Sweeden and a 1500 in Estonia this year aswell as demolishing the field at Tyson this year. Have a look at Tilastopaja.com for his race results not bad!!
I will tell you one thing about Fountain that I noticed. He isn't a stork like Mottram or Shrimp like Bekele, to me he is the height of most of us and the perfect build and form that I would aspire to and can relate to. He looked lean, strong and fit at Tyson. i would like to run just like him.
and he is one hell of a nice guy...always supportive of guys on the team unlike most professionals who think the world revolves around them. Doesnt mtter to him if your a 3min miler or a 5 min miler....confident yet not arrogant like most
I've got to say that fountain is a really nice guy, Having met hinm in the streets of Melbourne before the com games he took time to thave a chat with me and my mates which was great.
yeh i agree have always been a fan!
met him early jan at fayetville!
great bloke, very nice!
hope good results come to him!
Mark is a drovers dog!!...all prick and ribs!!
He weighs 63 kg and is 188/189cm!!!
The guys is way way thinner than Mottram! His vein action is outa this world!!
