Gouchers 10x500m Accurate 5k Time ????

And yet the 3k record still stands for years. Bek won't touch 714....if he does he'll also run 341 i the mile, and 144 in the 800. That's how fast he'd have to be to do something like that. oh and he'd have to run 1228.

Yet when yGoucher's 3k time is plugged in from around the same time period, you get his 5K PR. When you plug in 26:17 - 10K world record, you get 12:39 for 5K - only a 2 second difference. That calc is flat out wrong - yeah, sure.

If you ran under 4:30 for the mile you'd be JOGGING that workout in 75's. I doubt that you ever ran that fast, you're nothing more than a lying pretender.

I'm not lying. I've fun 4:29.6 for the mile and have a 5k pr of 16:17. For me, only taking a 200 for recovery is not that much time. My mile workouts are 400s at about 65 pace but with a full 400 for recovery. I don't race in workouts, I race in races.

Vladamir Kuts, 1956 Olympic 5000 and 10000 champion, did a similar workout as Gouchers.

Frank Shorter did 12 x 400 in 65 (jogging 100 between each).

He said that he did this workout many many weeks each year.

Frank's best 3 mile was about the same pace.

I used to do the same workout in college (at "my" 5K speed). I felt that it was a good workout, but I'd usally start with 200 jogs the first couple times I did it each season.
