Leadville 100 winner is minimalist

I really doubt Matt's record is on Tony's mind, or anyone's mind for that matter. At that point, on that moutain, he was the best ever.

However the leadville 100 record may not be as far off as it may seem.

I bet he runs slowly, too...

Just think of all the sightseeing Matt did that day.

I'm sure Michael Johnson used to say the same thing about 5-10k runners. Averaging over a minute per lap. Hell a real runner could stop at Starbucks for a double decaf .... by the time those distance guys do a 400.

all joking aside. he is what minimal claims is good for everyone. if you want to act and live like we were "meant to" then it means slow running over soft surfaces.

when you start talking 5k this world record that, you are now doing things that man wasn't "meant to" do. so that is where the minimal argument goes out the window with athletics.

I read the article and it said that he ran in college for Colorado College. Just curious, what did he run in track and xc performance-wise to compare. I'm not very familier with ultra-marathons. Obviously the guy puts in a lot of time on his feet, just wondered how that training corresponded with the college seasons, etc. I find it interesting.
