here are all of the kenyan commandments you need to know, and ever wondered about.
As soon as I saw Owen Anderson's byline, I closed the window. Thanks for trying.

YOU ARE AN IDIOT!! The kenyans were running well even before the introduction of EPO. They put in the required work, don't live the soft lifestyle that we do and being born and living at altitude cerftainly help.
Get real, we no longer have the Ryuns and the Shorters. And to call them Cheating Fraudelent Bastards well you need to back up. Justin Gatlin(an American) was the one caught cheating, Not any Kenyan Gold Medalists.
We no longer have Ryun and Shorter, but now we have Teg and Ritz. Don't not get me wrong, they are way young in their careers as runners but we do have hope.
Oh yeah, amongst the other young Americans we have Sell and Hall. Hall just crushed the 20k AR record. Out of the four I've mentioned none have peaked yet.
haha good one..EPO huh?? Cant come up with anything more creative? I think you're mixing up Bekele with Lance.
Ok, I dont know any "people in the know". Enlighten us all please with some FACTS.
Until then, shut up, your'e embarassing your community.
Why don't you actually discuss the points in the article at hand, or go elsewhere with your wingnut theories?
I guess it's easier to keep running 17:xx on a 40 mpw schedule and your Western lifestyle (while complaining that all Kenyans are on EPO) than it would be to try some of the suggestions presented here, isn't it?
A good doping program will run you in the tens of thousands or more. Non of them have the money to dope.

CASE RE-OPENED.......FILA, NIKE PAY THE SALARIES OF ROSA AND HERMANS.....HERMANS IS A DRUG GEINIUS, ROSA IS A CARDIOLOGIST TURNED "COACH."
I don't know what the elite athletes are taking, but brother I want some of whatever you are on. You asked for someone that knows people in the know. How about getting some knowledge yourself? It is obvious that you have never set foot in Kenya. I would speculate that you have never set foot outside of your state, but that is only indirectly relevant. For the sake of some of the kids that may be tarnished by your... bollocks (sorry, there really is no better word for it)... I will say that any fool (yourself included) that travels around the Rift Valley would see that there are 100's of children/men capable of running in the 13's for 5k. Now, I'll concede that 13's is not the same as 12's... but when you have 100's (or 1000's?) running in the 13s it is not at all surprising that some will be capable of running in the 12s. In addition there are guys representing Kenya that train with holes in their shoes. It's not uncommon for them to get their first pair of racing flats on the way to their first international meet. Now, can you name ONE corrupt agent that is stupid enough to pay for a drug program for these guys, but is too cheap to pay for some training shoes so that they don't get injured?? OF COURSE, then may be some Kenyans that are doping, but all in all there is less evidence to suggest thata they are than the Americans or Europeans are. Why? Well, if you are still asking why then you obviously didn't understand the above (try rereading it), BUT here's one more reason: The agents/shoe companies etc. spend more on a 13:10-13:20 (hell, even 13:30 up until a few years ago) American than they do on a 12:5X or 13:0X African.
Before epo, Ireland with a mere 4 million people had better runners than Kenya with about 60 million runners, Rift Valley and all....Delaney (GOLD) Coghlan (3:49/3:51) John Treacy (silver in marathon, world xc champ) However, with the Kenyans juiced they have pulled away from clean, western countries. Not all western countries were clean. I despise drug cheats and the scum here who apologize for them and I don't care if they have dark skin and come from countries with no indoor plumbing.... Yo, snook, how's your boy Barry Bonds doing?

EPO GIVES MOST RUNNERS A TEN SECOND PER MILE BOOST. DO THE MATH, 13:10 CLEAN, EQUALS 12:40 ON THE SHIT.
27:17 CLEAN, EQUALS 26:19 ON THE SHIT. GET IT?
Did that really add anything to the discussion? It doesn't contradict anything that I said. If anything it only shows that you are too stupid to be an Irishman. Be honest, at the "best" you are a 3rd generation Irishman now living in the USA. Why are you ashamed of who you are mate?
when have you ever been to kenya? while there, i met 6 guys living in a one room shack, which only had two beds, who had the dream to make it big. these guys all could run under 14:15 at 7k altitude on a dirt track. they lived a very modest lifestyle, so i dont see how they can afford epo. go to kaptagat at 6am every morning and see the dozens of youth out there chugging along and return at 10am and 4pm and see them again. ive also been to the fila camp house and spent some time with the guys there. their dr. rosa training schedule consisted of a sheet of paper taped to the wall, which they followed religiously. there is no in depth doping program going on there. while watching a time trial, i saw several legit high school kids run under 8:20 for 3k and 14:30 for 5k. keep in mind thats 5k conversion up there is nearly 45 seconds. yes, dirty kenyans are out there just like dirty americans and europeans. but if you go over there and spend some time looking into it, youll realize why they are so good.
I'm assuming that you weren't responding to me?
who's owen anderson? I realize he wrote the article, but what's he done?
Padd, you obviously did't read my post properly. I also mentioned someone from an industrialised country.(Walker)
I am not a Barry Bonds fan, and though like many others,I may have my suspicions, he is innocent until proven guilty. I don't believe that every talented runner is on something, and that includes Mottram who beat Bekele which by your logic means that if he beat someone on the juice he must be on it too.
I am sorry if you misinterpreted, but I am impressed with the crop of up and coming youngsters, and i think that down the road(pardon the pun) they will do extremely well. We have already seen evidence of their talent. I just wish guys like Ryun and Shorter and others had the opportunity to train full time like these guys do. I can only imagine the times they would have run.
Does it really matter his accomplishments? He wrote a description of Kenyan training and lifestlye. All that requires is research.
the Owen Anderson piece re: Kenyan was mildly intersting but the MOST intersting part of that Gloucester Catholic XC site is the link on Browning Ross...he was just the best...I owe the last 40 years of running to him for his early on guidance and motivation...so, the430miler, thanks for getting that out there.
