He is doing the following wrong:
1. Running with the sole intention to self promotion--pimping his book and anything from granola bars to sunglasses to $40 insoles with his visage on them.
2. Exaggerating. He made claims that this circus sideshow (50 in 50) had never been tried before and that it was doing something like 'testing the limits of human endurance' or some such nonesense.
3. Pimping acts of kindness for all the world to see. He thumps his Karnokids and brags about saving a baby named Katalina as if he rescued the damn thing from a burning building.
4. Going to the State Department and making outrageous claims b/c he got beat and this robbed him of a significant PR event to kickstart his lucrative circus act.

5. Writing a horrendous book using 8th Grade cliches.
6. Petitioning to the Late Show to get on (see #1 about the sole intent of running).
7. SEAL TEAM 6 photo op.

8. Writing a horrendous blog with insipid sentences like "Kansas, your spirit lives in my heart."
Now, the average Karn. industry apologist will say that there's nothing wrong with living the American dream and makin' bucks while traveling around the country from ignorant town to ignorant town like the King or Duke in Mark Twain's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The argument falls flat on its face here because this is supposed to be a buletin board for ascetic runners who live off $100 race winnings running their heart and lungs out. This is supposed to be a place where people aspire to compete against one another and not against some made up circus standard. People here aren't jealous: They're pissed off that this clown does nothing for running other than making a dime off it and feeding the cattle. Call it what you want, but to me it's WRONG.
