Charlie McMullen 1951-2003
Long-time Rochester running standout and city-school district teacher Charlie McMullen passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday August 4, 2003 at age 52. Predeceased by his father, Charles MacMullen. Survived by his wife, Nancy; mother, Eula; brothers, Timothy (Marilyn), Jack (Joann), William and Robert (Barbara); sister, Deborah (John) Rath; mother and father-in-law, Jack and Ruthann Stubbs; brother-inlaw, John (Cheryl) Stubbs; sister-in-law, Joanne (Chris) Williams; and several nieces and nephews. He was a Special Education Teacher with The Rochester City School District and Volunteered with Monroe Co. Special Olympics Program. He was a successful runner associated with Rochester Track Club and the Genesee Valley Harriers and an avid fisherman.....(he was a many time sub 4 minute miler and 215 marathoner. An NCAA All American and Big 8 champion. A fierce competitor on the Midwest Relay circut).
Contributions may be made to the Lipson Cancer and Blood Center at Rochester General Hospital or Monroe Co. Special Olympics in his memory.
