Probably both. The 8.5 will be track-spike snug and the 9 will be Mayfly-loose.
Note: I wear 9 in Mayflys, Milers and Kennedys, so got 9 in Forevers. They are a little floppy in the toe but fit well elsewhere.

Forever flats are out, a spiked xc version should be available in the next month. The flats are as close to a track spike as you can get without actually having pin receptacles.

i think they are more like track spikes but i know plenty of guys that wear milers for xc so it should be fine. check out pics of goucher from nationals this year, he was wearing them
What is Mottram wearing? They look like Zoom Forever but have spikes? What are these and how do you get them?

I've never seen the H streets, they don't have them in Canada. THe plastic plate sounds bad but it gives the shoe structure and with the rubber waffles they are grippy. On wet muck spikes are obviously the best but on anything else the forevers world be great.
Sizing is likely same as the Mayfly as someone said. I got 11.5, they are a bit big. My Mayflies are 11 and fine.

Much better; mayflies are good for running in a straight line. Forevers have a bit of cushioning, less than mayfly, almost as light. Mayflies are not twisty. More like spikes than a road flat. Not really comaparable shoes.

I think they'd be really good for races. Especially since most people would be scared to use them on XC courses. I've only run a little on trails and grass with them, but I'm going to do a xc soon and I don't foresee any problem with gravel and hills.
I just ordered it, hopefully a 8.5 forever will fit me
